Two Miniature Sheets of Cinderella Celebrating Concorde

In order to celebrate the world most famous aircraft, the A.I.A.C.C. decided to commemorate in its own way the retirement of Concorde. With this aim in view, our Philatelic Division has created with the assistance of the "European Philatelic Editions", two sheets of ten cinderella : one sheet is devoted to the fleet of Air France, the other one to the British Airways fleet. Each cinderella, with a few exceptions, shows the aircraft where you can visit her today in her retirement place such as various museums or designated exposure places.

The Air France’s sheet includes in its higher part a picture of the maiden takeoff of the French prototype model on March 2, 1969 in Toulouse - Blagnac, and in its lower part, the 10 aircraft shown on their retirement place.

From left to right and from top to bottom, we can see:

- Aircraft number 001 registered F-WTSS preserved in the exhibition hall of the French “Air and Space Museum”, Le Bourget, Paris, when she was an isolated exhibit;
- Aircraft number 102 registered F-WTSA on the raised strip of “Musee Delta”, Athis-Mons, near Orly Airport, Paris;
- Aircraft number 201 registered F-WTSB on display outside Airbus HQ at Toulouse, France;
- Aircraft number 203 registered F-BTSC whose painful end is well known is shown about to takeoff to New York the 17th of June 2000 in Roissy CGD Airport, France;
- Aircraft number 205 registered F-BVFA inside the “Smithsonian Museum” in Washington;
- Aircraft number 207 registered F-BVFB at night in “Sinsheim Auto & Technik Museum”, (Germany);
- Aircraft number 209 registered F-BVFC in the Airbus Factory at Toulouse, France waiting for the opening of a new museum;
- Aircraft number 211 registered F-BVFD withdrawn from use in December 1994 and shown here in JFK Airport, New York the 6th of April 1980;
- Aircraft number 213 registered F-BTSD in the exhibition hall of Le Bourget “Air and Space museum”, Paris, France near the F-WTSS;
- Aircraft number 215 registered F-BVFF in storage at Roissy CDG, where it will eventually go on display near the « Parallels ».

In the same way, the British Airways’ sheet includes in its higher part a picture the 1st takeoff of the British prototype model on April 9, 1969 in Filton-Faiford, and, in its lower part, the 10 aircraft shown in their respective museum.

From left to right and from top to bottom, we can see:

- Aircraft number 002 G-BSST preserved in the hall of the “Royal Naval Air Station” Yeovilton, Somerset;
- Aircraft number 101 registered G-AXDN on the raised strip of the “Imperial War Museum”, Duxford, Cambridgeshire;
- Aircraft number 202 registered G-BBDG newly sent to Brooklands Museum, Weybridge (Surrey). This picture has been taken in Filton, where the aircraft used to be before;
- Aircraft number 204 registered G-BOAC covered by snow in Manchester Airport;

- Aircraft number 208 registered G-BOAB on display airside at Heathrow Airport, London and waiting for being exposed on display at Heathrow Terminal 5;
- Aircraft number 210 registered G-BOAE is now retired on the deck of aircraft carrier « US Intrepid » at the “Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum”, New York. On the stamp, we can see her during her transportation on a barge across the Hudson River;
